Mitigate risks and proactively identify and resolve technical challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.

**Innovation And Continuous Improvement**

Drive innovation within the engineering team, identifying opportunities to enhance existing products or develop new solutions.

Acting Architect: Craft architectural proposals, articulating trade-offs of architectural decisions, using UML and ERDs to communicate technical information.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of engineering efforts with business goals and priorities

**Quality Assurance And Compliance**

Ensure that engineering projects and deliverables meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Lead by example with disciplined testing and QA processes, robust testing and quality assurance processes to verify the performance, reliability, and safety of engineered solutions.

Conduct thorough technical reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure the quality of work produced by the engineering team.

Stay informed about industry-specific regulations and standards, ensuring compliance and integrating them into engineering practices.

**Technical Expertise**

- Experience of 7+ years in a similar role.
- Possess deep technical knowledge and expertise in a specific engineering discipline -
- Angular, Node, Python, Influx, Cloud architecture / AWS, Data engineering (ML, RL, big data, statistics)

**What We're Looking For**

- 7-14 years of experience in product development. Should have seen an entire product lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with system design and microservices architecture, with exposure to AWS cloud services or equivalent (Azure, Google)
- Well-versed with tech stacks like Nodejs, Python or AngularJS
- Be hands-on, pairing with and mentoring developers in writing quality code as needed.
- Build visibility for Smart Joules’ technology leadership.
- Experience in AI, ML, and IoT preferred but not mandatory
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to the engineering team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Recruit, train, and mentor engineering staff, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and resources to achieve objectives.
- Set clear performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Head of Engineering

**Key Responsibilities**

- Audience Research: Conduct in-depth research to understand our target audience's needs, pain points, and preferences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain consumer insights, comprehend product features, value proposition, and market trends
- Customer Experience: Take ownership of the entire digital customer experience journey and oversee a roadmap including but not limited to all touchpoints (website, blogs, emails, and social media) to ensure brand salience and relevance.
- Digital Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with Smart Joules' goals and mission. This includes defining target audiences, setting clear objectives, and selecting the most effective digital channels and tactics.
- Social Media Management: Build and maintain a strong presence on social media platforms, including but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram. Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase engagement, followership, and brand awareness.
- SEO and SEM: Optimize website content for search engines (SEO) and manage pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns (SEM) to drive organic and paid traffic. Monitor and analyze keyword performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Email Marketing: Oversee customer journeys and develop & execute email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, personalization, and A/B testing. Monitor email campaign performance and continually refine strategies to improve results.
- Analytics and Reporting: Directly responsible for increasing traffic, conversion, and ROI across all digital acquisition channels, including paid search, SEO, remarketing, display, email, and social media. Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management to guide decision-making.
- Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies related to energy efficiency and sustainability. Use insights to refine and adapt digital marketing strategies.

**Ideal Candidature**

- Proven experience (6 to 7 years) in digital marketing, with a focus on strategy development and execution and a proven track record of managing the brand's end-to-end digital customer experience.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SEO tools, email marketing software).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
