✅History of Ganesh Chaturthi:
Ganesh Chaturthi has deep historical roots in Hindu mythology. According to legend, Parvati, in the absence of her husband Shiva, created Ganesha from sandalwood and appointed him as the guardian of her home's entrance while she bathed. Upon Shiva's return to his house, he encountered Ganesha blocking his way. This led to a heated confrontation, with Shiva attempting unsuccessfully to reason with the young boy. Ultimately, Shiva, the god of destruction, severed Ganesha's head.
Witnessing this scene, Parvati transformed into the fierce goddess Kali and threatened to bring about the end of the world. Fearing the consequences, people implored Lord Shiva to find a solution and pacify Goddess Kali's fury. Shiva instructed his followers to find a child whose mother had neglected him and bring his head to him.
Shiva then promptly affixed an elephant kid's head onto Ganesha's body, miraculously reviving him. This act subdued Goddess Parvati's wrath, and Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, was warmly welcomed into the divine family.
Ganesha, the chief of Shiva's attendants, is now revered as the most auspicious deity for new beginnings. People worship him before embarking on journeys, starting new projects, and during various festivals. Ganesha holds a significant place in Hindu spirituality and culture.
