What currently I'm doing is to buy Bitcoin all Fridays (I don't look on the price), my strategy is wait 7-8 more years and see what happens with my investment. 
Also, I only invest money that I am willing to "lose", not money that I need in short term.

Not financial advice, but when I first started I went for Bitcoin and Ethereum and still to this day I really like them. I haven't spent much time with Alt. coins but would love to hear from some people who have experience in Alt. coins and what to look for when investing in them.
