Overview:

Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and cultivate the development of design team members. Coach and facilitate a culture of constructive feedback within game design. Cultivate a friendly working environment that promotes communication and cross-team collaboration. Establish team objectives and support team members in achieving their career progression goals and resolving day-to-day issues. Supervise the team's performance management, conducting regular 1-on-1s and performance reviews. Take ownership of prototyping, designing, and implementing multiple gameplay systems, guiding them to a final high-quality state in collaboration with our partner company. Create specifications and mockups to effectively communicate your ideas to both internal and external teams. Assume ultimate responsibility for quality control and project delivery, aligning with the project's vision, creative direction, and technical constraints.

Requirements:

Minimum of 8 years of experience working on PC and/or console games in a similar role. An innate understanding of fundamental game design principles, encompassing gameplay and system design. Substantial involvement in multiple game titles or projects within the game design discipline, with a preference for full-cycle experience on a AAA title or equivalent within a live product context. Proficiency in various aspects of game design. Strong game design skills, including the ability to provide thoughtful analysis of recent games, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, and identifying techniques employed to create engaging FPS combat experiences. Hands-on experience in developing and delivering features for contemporary game engines such as Unreal Engine and/or proprietary engines. Demonstrates a growth mindset and possesses a compelling ability to persuade, influence, and inspire team members at all levels. Comfortable with clear and engaging presentations to various audiences. Prior experience in assessing, mentoring, and recruiting for a game design team.

Additional skills that will help you stand out:

Experience in 3C (Character, Camera, Controls) or core gameplay. Experience in designing shooter games. Previous involvement with multiplayer game projects. Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
