Overview:

Job Title: Generative AI Engineer
Location: Remote 
Type: Contract
GC or USC/ H4 only
 
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, fine-tune, and deploy generative AI models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, Claude, PaLM).
Integrate LLMs and transformer-based architectures into production-grade applications.
Build and optimize prompt engineering frameworks for various NLP tasks (summarization, Q&A, generation).
Work with multi-modal models (text, image, audio) where applicable.
Collaborate with data teams to build scalable data pipelines for training and inference.
Conduct model evaluations and A/B testing to assess performance, accuracy, and safety.
Stay current with academic research and apply emerging techniques (RAG, LoRA, fine-tuning, distillation).
Ensure ethical AI practices, including bias mitigation and model interpretability.
 
Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field.
3+ years of experience in machine learning or natural language processing.
Solid experience with Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, and OpenAI APIs.
Understanding of vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone), embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and a research-oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
Nice to Have:
Experience with LangChain, LLM orchestration, or custom model serving.
Knowledge of multi-modal AI, generative image or audio models, or AutoML frameworks.
Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, HIPAA) and AI compliance.
