Requirements
• At least 4 years of experience with Apache Cassandra, including installation, configuration, design, development, performance optimization, and implementation. • At least 4 years of experience with Java / Python. • Solid understanding of NoSQL databases. • Knowledge and experience to Plan, build, administer, upgrade and tune and support Cassandra database and database cluster nodes. • Experience in performance tuning databases in Cassandra • Experience in information/data security and data encryption, backup, recovery, and replication • Knowledge and experience to Develop, tune and optimize complex NoSQL schema structures. • Deep knowledge of Cassandra DB performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices • Solid experience writing SQL queries. • Knowledge of Cassandra Query Language (CQL). • Experience with index and search programs and tools • Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell • Experience in database automation. • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and other automation tools surrounding it. • Experience in creating tables involving collections, TTLs, counter, UDTs as part of data modelling. • Familiar with data modelling concepts Normalization, De-Normalization, Nested Objects, etc. • Strong hands-on experience with Cassandra, data replication, clustering, indexing for handling for large data sets. • Experience working in an agile environment. • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment processes and tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, etc. • Experience in handling Big data. • Experience with datastores like Aurora (PostgreSQL), Cassandra, S3 • Understanding of cloud security, especially IAM, is required. • Experience with google Cloud and managing cloud platform databases. • Ability to monitor databases and respond to Cloud database alerts. Other Desirable Skills: • Experience in Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, Google), focus on IaaS/PaaS, certification is a plus. • Experience in Docker and containerization technologies. • Experience in Kubernetes to deploy scale, load balance and manage Docker containers.
Duties
Job Details: - Client is looking for passionate Developer with Apache Cassandra experience to install, configure, design, and implement highly scalable and reliable distributed data architectures including, data distribution - networks and monitoring infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and test Cassandra databases using automation tools in on-premises or cloud environments. • Create infrastructure-as-code using Cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure). • Migrate data from SQL Server/PostgreSQL to Cassandra. • Define and implement backup and restoration strategies. • Design and develop scalable data architecture. • Monitor Cassandra solutions’ performance and analytics. • Perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate and correct data and database issues. • Deploy and manage Cassandra clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity. • Configure and tune Cassandra to optimize performance and resource utilization. • Code scripts to automate manual processes. • Collaborate with application developers to understand the application requirement and design database schema accordingly. • Collaborate with application developers for troubleshooting and performance related issues. • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and research key requirements. • Create and configure alerts to health check for the databases running on-premises or in the cloud. • Ability to troubleshoot and investigate stability, performance issues. • Ability to support application teams with day-to-day database tasks. • Ensures database security controls meet internal & external audit & compliance requirements. • Cassandra Data Modelling, NoSQL Architecture, Keyspace, Table, Index creation, User creation & access administration. • CQL Queries to support Integration with Cassandra • As a Cassandra DBA, you will design & develop database systems to meet application & business requirements across multiple platforms & computing environments.
